CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment and the company’s former landlord Towne Properties are suing each other following the abrupt October closure of the Lempicka by Jeff Ruby and the restaurant group’s decision to vacate that space as well as its corporate office space at the 700 Walnut Building in downtown Cincinnati.
Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment (JRCE) claims Towne Properties breached the leases by failing to address the restaurant group’s safety concerns, among other things, while the landlord in counterclaims and a third-party complaint bringing actions against the steakhouse operator accuses JRCE of breaching the lease by vacating the space prematurely, along with defamation and removing items from the Lempicka event space.
On Oct. 14, the Business Courier reported JRCE was shutting down its private event space and relocating is downtown corporate office and catering operations. The office lease is set to expire Aug. 31, 2028, while the Lempicka lease is scheduled to expire Aug. 31, 2030.
