The royal family was rocked by Prince Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnoses in early 2024, and the experience reportedly inspired Prince William and Kate Middleton to become “more religious.” The Daily Mail reports that despite William never being a “regular worshipper,” he “now attends church more frequently than in the past, though as privately as possible.”
The couple are also determined to put their family first as William prepares to be King, and are also prepping Prince George for eventually stepping into his father’s shoes without putting too much pressure on him.
“They want him to understand what’s ahead, but live as a boy first,” a source says. “Balance now will make him strong when his time comes.” Meanwhile, they the insider notes that Kate “supports William and together they raise their children their way. They are their priority. Of course, her public duties matter, but family matters more.”
Another source adds that “she wants her children to feel that same security” she had growing up.
As a reminder, the couple and their three kids have just moved into their new “forever home,” Forest Lodge on the Windsor estate, and apparently they plan to live there even when William becomes King. Meaning that Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle could become…largely ceremonial. TBD on how King Charles feels about that, but for what it’s worth, he doesn’t live in Buckingham Palace either!
