The Daily Mail reports that while Her Majesty was “deeply relieved” about Catherine’s recovery, a “senior Household source” claims she joked to friends that the video was “like a shampoo commercial.”
This comes amid years of reporting that Queen Camilla has a somewhat tense relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton—though Kate’s been a driving force in getting them to mend fences.
Royal expert Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that William merely “tolerates” his step-mom, while a family friend added that “there’s a lot to overcome. William and Harry had always distrusted Camilla and felt resentment toward her because of their devotion to their mother. They never felt comfortable opening up to her in any real way.
