What’s next for Ariana Grande?
Wicked: For Good hits theaters on Nov. 21, and the date can’t come soon enough for fans. But the “Glinda” actress, 32, already has her sights set on future projects once her highly anticipated sequel finally drops.
In a new interview with The New York Times, the pop superstar hinted at a mystery project, in addition to her upcoming appearance in American Horror Story. Grande “teased something stage-related coming up soon,” according to The Times — which is thrilling news for fans who first saw her on Broadway in the acclaimed musical 13.
“It’s not on Broadway, but it’s something that I’m very excited about and inspired by,” the Oscar-nominated actress told the newspaper in an interview article published Wednesday, Nov. 5.
It’s clear that acting is keeping her busy, though Grande made clear in the Times interview that she hasn’t lost sight of that other little passion of hers.
“Of course, music will be in my life forever,” she said. “I have to say that for my fans who are reading this who are going to have a heart attack.”
Elsewhere in her new interview, Grande noted that she utilized the famed Stella Adler acting technique, “using it to meticulously plot out her character’s inner life, childhood and traumas,” according to The Times.
“This is my first time talking about it,” Grande told the newspaper. “I just wanted to design this person inside and out, even if none of it was necessary for a scene, so that I could reference it for myself and leave my own stuff at home. So every time something had to trigger Glinda, it was a Glinda trigger that I used, not an Ariana one.”
The “7 Rings” singer made headlines earlier this week when she sadly had to miss the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Brazil due to flight issues. Grande took to Instagram late Monday, Nov. 3, to let South American fans know she would be unable to make the event.
