Brooks Nader Was Desperate for ‘Hand Jobs,’ but There’s a Catch

Brooks Nader recently opened up about her career and health, revealing a desperate moment. In an interview, she mentioned that she moved to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a model and actress in the past. But things got difficult for her financially, and so she requested that her agency find her work. The 28-year-old found a gig, which she described as “Hand jobs,” but she clarified that it was “not those kind.” Reportedly, the fashionista was talking about “hand modeling” gigs.

Brooks Nader shed light on her struggles and journey from being a Louisiana girl to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star. While talking to Bustle, she revealed that she was a “hyper sheltered little girl” who was not aware of the world outside her small town. But her dreams were seemingly big, and thus, she headed to New York City in 2017 to pursue modeling.

When she faced a financial obstacle, Nader rushed to her agency and requested that they find her a job. She told her agency, “I’m desperate; I need a job. I’m talking hand modeling,” the model recalled, adding, “Hand jobs — but not those kind.” Finally, she found work for BareMinerals in  New Jersey.

She mentioned that this particular gig, despite the early hours, helped her to stay in New York. But her struggle didn’t end there, as she was discouraged from applying to the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit open casting call. But Nader didn’t lose hope and worked hard to win that year’s Swim Search. For the next three years, the television personality featured in the magazine. In 2023, she succeeded in becoming the cover girl.

Further, she told the outlet that she reportedly advised her sisters to leave their hometown. “I told my sisters, ‘You can’t just manifest. You need to get out there and f—king do the work,’” Nader added.
