Meghan Markle shocked fans worldwide when news broke of her return to the acting world.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, will portray herself in the upcoming film Close Personal Friends, currently in production in Pasadena, Los Angeles. And while Prince Harry‘s wife has remained silent on the announcement, she has been spotted on set in LA.
The extent of her involvement in the production remains unclear. However, the part will undoubtedly evoke memories of Meghan’s life before Harry, when the Duchess starred as Rachel Zane in Suits – a career she abandoned while preparing to marry King Charles’ younger son.
While Prince Harry, 41, has yet to publicly comment on his wife’s unexpected professional pivot, sources indicate he fully backs her decision.
He is currently in Toronto, Canada, for Remembrance Week.
A studio insider revealed to The Sun yesterday, “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves.”
Regarding Harry’s perspective, the insider further noted, “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
This mirrors Harry’s stance on his wife’s other professional pursuits since she stepped back from royal duties in 2020, including her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
In a conversation with People magazine earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex stated, “I am so happy for my wife and fully support absolutely everything she’s done and continues to do. I’m incredibly proud.”

This move from Meghan comes as the Duchess was incessantly mocked for a video she posted on social media earlier this week.
Recently, Meghan has posted an array of videos to Instagram, such as one of her family at a pumpkin patch, and another of her celebrating he LA Lakers’ World Series win.
This second video was branded “fake” and “staged” by viewers, with a source telling Page Six that Harry is less than impressed by the social media content.
“He’s very aware of her parading him around,” the source said. “He doesn’t love the social media displays.”
Social media users also commented on the video, with one writing on X, “This is irritating to see. Fake AF.”
Another person then added, “Of course it was NOT staged because, you know, the camera was perfectly positioned to capture everyone. Oh my gosh! Look how happy we are and so into each other. See, we have a friend and it’s not my bottle of wine.”
