Can’t wait for Spotify’s annual Wrapped feature to see what you’ve been listening to? Now the streaming service has weekly listening charts with statistics about your favorite songs and artists.

Taylor Swift just turned NYC into a “Showgirl” stage with a new pop-up by Spotify to support her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Spotify isn’t waiting until the year is wrapped to give you a snapshot of your listening behavior.
Users of the music streaming service annually await the annual release of Spotify Wrapped, which lists the top artists and songs of the year – and details your personal soundtrack for the past year.
Spotify Wrapped is due out in the next few weeks. In the meantime, the music service is giving you a more timely, immediate look at your choices with a new weekly listening stats feature that displays the artists and songs you’ve listened to the most over the past four weeks.
The new listening stats feature also “serves up playlists inspired by what you love or tracks you might want to queue up next,” the company said in news release on Nov. 6. Spotify users will also get a weekly highlight “that captures what makes your listening unique, whether it’s a milestone, a new discovery, or a fan moment,” Spotify’s news release said.
The new listening stats features are now available to Free and Premium users in more than 60 markets worldwide. Here’s what you need to know to access them.
How to check your Spotify listening stats
Open the Spotify app on your mobile device and follow these steps, according to the music service:
- Click on your profile image to open the menu and click the “listening stats” tab.
- Check out your top artists, songs, and insights.
- Tap Share to share your weekly stats or individual highlights with your friends or on Instagram, WhatsApp and more.
Lossless quality music on Spotify available now
Spotify boasts the largest user base with 281 million subscribers and more than 713 million users globally. The streaming service recently got another new feature that some competitors had beat them to: lossless music.
In October, lossless music became available to Premium subscribers in more than 50 markets, including the U.S. What’s the big deal? Lossless music delivers CD-quality sound, which, to most ears, sounds better than MP3-type files made with less data.
Lossless tracks are created with technology that preserves all the music’s original data. Some other compression technologies such as MP3, snip out data to make music files smaller and more manageable for streaming and storage.
To turn on lossless-quality music on Spotify, go to Media Quality in Settings. Spotify recommends listening to lossless music over Wi-Fi using wired headphones or via speakers on a non-Bluetooth connection, such as Spotify Connect.
