Andrew Windsor, now disgraced and stripped of his Royal titles, is reportedly spending his final weeks at Royal Lodge “ranting to himself”, while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson confides in staff at a secluded bar known as The Doghouse, according to sources.
The once-royal couple, both divested of their titles by King Charles, are now leading separate lives within the expansive 30-room Windsor residence, only uniting for meals to discuss their increasingly uncertain futures.
Ferguson, aged 66, allegedly spends her evenings in a specially constructed bar named The Doghouse located behind the Windsor estate, where she “pours out her heart” to staff and close friends.
A source revealed: “They are both spending a lot of time alone. Andrew rarely goes out and has been wandering around the lodge, ranting and muttering.”
The insider shared: “Andrew and Sarah are leading separate lives – at different ends and on different wings. But they come together quite often for lunch and dinner, and this is where they talk about their futures.”, reports the Mirror.
“They have been heard having some pretty intense conversations about what is going on. Sarah, in particular, is panicking about what comes next and she is not in a good place.
“She fears being caught in the crosshairs and is worried about herself and her and Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie. But she is particularly fearful for Andrew as she knows he was at the centre of the Epstein scandal. She has talked about ‘dark forces’ potentially targeting him.”
Andrew has consistently denied sex allegations in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The insider told The Sun: “It is probably far-fetched but she is s***-scared and massively on edge.
“Luckily Sarah has quite a few staff left working for her who really like her, and she is really leaning on them for support. Sarah is spending quite a lot of evenings in The Doghouse, which is a purpose-built bar behind Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.
“She drinks in there with friends and staff to escape from what is going on in her life generally. And while she is there, she takes advice on what to do next.”
The Royal Family insider claimed Fergie has no clue where she’ll end up living next, knowing only that for the first time in years it will be separate from Andrew, who will relocate to the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The source said: “But the one thing that brings them together is their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie – as they both want to shield them as much as possible from what is going on.
“It is no secret that Sarah is not in a good way at the moment. The girls are extremely worried about her – and making sure they stay in touch. Sarah’s older sister, Jane, has been over from Australia recently to see her, and that was in part to give Sarah moral support. She feels she is blameless but has taken what has happened recently extremely hard.
“Sarah still thinks Andrew is a good person and will always support him, but she knows her future is away from him. One thing they have also spoken about is the two corgis. They will definitely be staying in the family, and they will probably spend time with both Andrew and Sarah. The dogs won’t be split up – so will be with Andrew for a few weeks and then go to Sarah for a spell after that.”
Andrew is said not to have garnered much sympathy from those close to him, unlike Sarah Ferguson who is getting support from her friends and some staff. The insider claims Andrew’s wife is “gripped by paranoia” and “feels the weight of the world” on her shoulders, before adding: “She has raised her fears with Andrew, who was dismissive at first, but is now becoming more worried. He has lost a bit of his arrogance since being stripped of his titles.
“Sarah is worried about being on her own and what her future security is going to be like. But it might well be the case that one of her well-heeled friends offers her sanctuary as she needs all the help she can get at the moment.”
A spokesman for Sarah Ferguson declined to comment.
