Prince Harry is reportedly concerned about the public perception of Meghan Markle‘s recent social media posts, fearing they are becoming a bit ‘Fergie-esque’, according to a new report.

Since stepping back from Royal duties in 2010, Meghan has been heavily invested in her lifestyle brand, As Ever, often using her Instagram account to boost her business.

Recently, the Duchess posted a video of herself at her desk, featuring one of her new $64 candles and a blue notebook on Instagram.

Observers quickly pointed out that her Royal cypher – an ‘M’ topped with a crown – was prominently displayed in gold on the cover.

This cypher was first introduced before Meghan’s marriage to Harry in 2018. She has also been posting pictures of Harry and their children, showing their faces more clearly than before, a practice Harry reportedly ‘doesn’t love’.

A third added: “It’s pathetic at this point. If you must remind everyone you’re connected to royalty, you’re not royal at all.”

The report suggests that Prince Harry is not oblivious to the controversy surrounding him. An insider shared with the publication that the Duke “is aware” of how such actions can be perceived as “not a great look and Fergie-esque”, referring to Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, known for capitalizing on her former Royal status – from her ‘cash for access’ scandal in 2010, to her commercial endorsements (including Weight Watchers and Royal Doulton).

“He’s used to being universally loved,” the source added. “Now it’s the exact opposite: actively booed” referencing the crowd’s reaction when the couple appeared on the Jumbotron at a recent Dodgers game.

A spokesperson for the couple declined to comment.

Behavioral expert Judi James offers a different perspective, suggesting that Meghan’s approach to sharing their private life must have been mutually agreed upon.

“The balance between sharing glimpses of a celeb’s private life and invading their own privacy must hopefully be one that Harry and Meghan have taken on with a seriously like-minded approach, although Meghan does tend to be shown as the keener and more comfortable performer during their more recent ‘private’ clips,” she says.

“Her podcasts and her Netflix series have created a manageable blend of reality and performative, with apparent ‘rules’ like not filming in their own house. But as the social media posts continue and even increase its impossible to imagine there won’t be an agreed and like-minded approach to avoid them ever feeling like an intrusion. Harry, to be fair, has previously shown a keen interest in embracing the camera himself since his time in the US. His performances on chat shows and the James Corden show have suggested his own ‘inner performer’ can happily burst out at any moment, so although he has been viewed as desiring privacy for his family, he can also seem perfectly happy showboating for the camera in his own way.”

In the meantime, Harry and Meghan will undoubtedly be eager to distance themselves from Fergie and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The former spouses are currently living in shame due to their connections with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, with Andrew stripped of his Royal titles and the residence the ex-couple once occupied, Royal Lodge.

According to Jennie Bond, it’s probable that Harry and Meghan would have been monitoring the specifics of Andrew and Sarah’s highly publicized fall from grace from California, and would probably feel grateful that they aren’t the sole royals experiencing negative scrutiny. Since 2020, the Sussexes have established themselves as among the most disliked royals in recent history – but it pales in comparison to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Jennie told The Mirror: “I imagine Harry and Meghan will feel some relief that the heat is off them for the time being. I don’t suppose the question of who lives in their old house or not is uppermost in their minds. I think, like the King and Queen, their thoughts will focus primarily on the victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse.

“I’m sure they will have taken a keen interest in all that has happened over the past couple of weeks. And I don’t think they will have shed any tears over Andrew’s dramatic fall into utter disgrace.”

Though Jennie acknowledged that Harry and Meghan are probably just observers to the unfolding drama, the Duke has a deeper stake considering his tight bonds with his cousins, Beatrice and Eugenie.

Jennie explained: “Harry is, however, close to his cousins – particularly Eugenie – and I’m sure he feels great sympathy for them. Emotions must be so raw at the moment that I’m unsure whether he would feel that now is the time to offer support. But, if needed, I think Harry would be there for them… at least on the end of the phone.”
