The Celebrity Traitors is returning for a second series in 2026.
Its first series attracted some huge names from winner Alan Carr to Kate Garraway, Charlotte Church, Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross. It works the same way as the civilian series, where the traitors must keep their identities secret and murder the faithful while the faithfuls try to banish the traitors. There is a different dynamic as many of the celebrities know each other, while the civilians are all strangers.
The debut episode of The Celebrity Traitors is now the biggest unscripted title on Broadcaster VOD ever.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, said: “Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn.
“In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two, which promises to be just as unmissable as the first.”
Who is in Celebrity Traitors season two?

Fresh famous faces will descend on Ardross Castle in the Highlands, Scotland, to film in the springtime. The celebrities will be sworn to secrecy over what happens in the Scottish castle. Now that the announcement has been made, TV bosses will be on the lookout for talent.
According to reports, celebrities are paid a flat fee of £40,000, but they are playing the game for their designated charity. Carr won £87,500 for charity after disarming all suspicion of him with humour and good fun.
The first series had a fantastic line-up, including Celia Imrie and Nick Mohammed.
Ross didn’t enjoy filming Celebrity Traitors, but the chat show host said that he hasn’t discouraged his celebrity friends from taking part.

He wrote on X: “Despite rather mis-leading reports, I am NOT discouraging anyone from taking part in future series of Traitors. I am pleased I did it – an extraordinary experience- but I did not enjoy the duplicity as the game progressed.”
Martin Lewis was offered Celebrity Traitors and regretted turning it down, so perhaps he would like to sign up for the second season.

The Traitors boosts Scotland’s economy by £21.8m

The Traitors franchise as a whole — including the UK, US and celebrity versions — has boosted the Scotland economy by £21.8m in Gross Value Added (GVA).
This has been since cameras first started rolling for the series in 2022.
The show promotes opportunities for the Scottish industry. The report examines contributions from VisitScotland and Screen Scotland. It also highlights that for every £1 of GVA directly generated by the production, a total of £6.84 was added to the Scottish economy overall.
When is The Traitors back on TV?
Faithful fans of the show don’t need to wait long until the franchise returns to our TVs early next year with another civilian series.
It will be the fourth civilian series of the show in the UK so far.
