Nov. 10 (UPI) — Country music artist Vince Gill is set to receive the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 59th annual CMA Awards Nov. 19.
The show will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and broadcast live on ABC.
Gill, who is commemorating some 50 years in the music industry with a series of EPs, will join the ranks of Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Alan Jackson and George Strait, an official press release states.
He has already accumulated 22 Grammy awards and 18 CMA awards.
“Vince embodies the very best of what country music stands for. He’s a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honors the roots of our genre, and even now, continues to share his talent with fans across the globe,” said CMA CEO Sarah Trahern in a statement.”
