EXCLUSIVE: Archstone Entertainment has acquired worldwide sales rights for the newly completed psychological horror feature Woozy, starring Emile Hirsch, for an AFM sales launch.
The film, scored by Rudy Mancuso, directed by Joey Bicicchi, and produced by Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures and Lalit Bhatnagar of Imagination Infinite, centers on Dusty (Hirsch) as he grapples with phobias, delusions and a self-destructive flight from the past.
The previously announced supporting cast also includes Jackie Cruz, Penelope Mitchell and Jeff Adler.
“Woozy is bold, unsettling and built to travel,” said Jack Sheehan, President of Worldwide Sales and Development at Archstone.
“Emile Hirsch gives a riveting lead performance, and Joey Bicicchi’s directorial vision delivers the kind of genre film that transcends borders and resonates with audiences worldwide, haunted by a ghostly clown-demon performance by Jeff Adler that could even scare Art the Clown!”
Producers Kjarval and Bhatnagar added: “This film and it’s visionary filmmaker, Joey Bicicchi, are special, and we’re thrilled that Archstone is now on board and ready to engage worldwide distributors. AFM next week is the right time to begin building the film’s global trajectory.”
Archstone’s AFM slate also includes Cookbook for Southern Housewives; Michael Madsen’s final film, horror-thriller Sacred Evil starring Sean Patrick Flannery, Orlando Jones, and Tom Arnold, and actioner Ca$h Collectors, and new posters and trailers for Chili Finger (John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Judy Greer, Sean Astin); Saurus City (Dennis Quaid, Emma Roberts, Ron Perlman), I See the Demon (Jon Heder), CognAItive (Noel Fisher), and Christmas & Chaos (Jason Isaacs).
