Swedish pop star Robyn is making her big comeback!
Robyn, known for pop hits like “Show Me Love” and “Dancing On My Own,” hasn’t released a new album in seven years. Now, fans can get excited once again as she’s announced her comeback single, “Dopamine.”
Not only will she be releasing a new single, but it seems like she’s got a new album on the way as well. Here’s everything you should know about Robyn’s new music.
What are Robyn’s biggest hits?
Swedish singer Robyn’s first album was 1995’s Robyn Is Here, which featured the Billboard Hot100 Top 10 songs “Do You Know (What It Takes)” and “Show Me Love.”
In 2010, she released a trilogy of mini-albums, known as the Body Talk series. This trilogy included her smash hit singles “Dancing On My Own” and “Call Your Girlfriend.” The two songs are considered some of her signature tunes.
When Was Robyn’s last album?
Robyn’s last album was 2018’s Honey. The album was released in October 2018, meaning it’s been just over seven years since she released a new one. When Honey was released, it was Robyn’s first new album since 2010’s Body Talk Pt. 1-3.
When Is Robyn releasing new music?
On November 9, Robyn posted a link in her Instagram Stories that said “keep your eyes open…” and encouraged fans to sign up for her mailing list.
On November 10, Robyn announced on Instagram that her first single in seven years, “Dopamine,” will be out this Wednesday, November 12.
Her website also features the “Dopamine” single announcement with a pre-save link and a close-up photo of Robyn’s eye.
Is Robyn releasing a new album?
Robyn’s longtime collaborator and songwriter, Klas Åhlund, went on fellow producer Per Nordmark’s podcast Nordmark Pod last week, where he said he “just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out. Super exciting! Very proud of it,” per Stereogum.
Åhlund has written songs for Robyn like “Call Your Girlfriend,” “Missing U,” “Hang With Me,” “Honey,” and “Indestructible.” He’s also worked with other artists, including Usher, Kesha, Katy Perry, and Britney Spears.
