Consider our breaths taken away. We’re going to need Doctor Frankenstein himself to bring life back into our body. What has transpired, you ask? Well, Jacob Elordi has shared some INCREDIBLE selfies he took as Frankenstein’s monster while working on Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. And these images do not mess around. They are literally breathtaking and totally gorgeous. And that’s super fitting because by all counts, del Toro’s Frankenstein is both those things from start to finish. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is now streaming on Netflix, so don’t delay in watching it. But first, look upon these Frankenstein selfies, courtesy of Jacob Elordi, and we dare you not to find beauty in the monster after looking at these images.

In our exclusive look at the Art and Making of Frankenstein book, we saw some concept art of Frankenstein’s monster that gave us goosebumps. And the real thing is even better. Del Toro said in our exclusive, “You see the creature in the beginning as the Other, and you finish the movie as Us. It is very rare to be able to make a movie about forgiveness.” And, indeed, as we look upon Jacob Elordi’s selfies as Frankenstein’s monster, we see ourselves in the images, we see humanity, and we see something that we can define as nothing short of pure art.

I think we can all agree there’s something supremely haunting about these selfie images of Elordi as the Frankenstein’s monster, even devoid of any setting or story. In them, we can really feel the monster’s deep vulnerability, a humanity that shines out of Frankenstein’s creation, even though he should be the total anethema of it. If just these images of Del Toro’s Frankenstein haunt us, we can’t imagine what watching the full movie will do.

On a lighter note, we’re obsessed with the names of the paint color used to create the monster, which Elordi also shares among his Frankenstein images. “Vile Bile” and “Dath Moss” are our favorites. This is like stealing paint swatches from Home Depot for goths.
