Located on the ground floor of Memorial Union, CyBowl & Billiards offers a variety of social and independent activities. A range of free and paid activities makes CyBowl & Billiards a popular pastime for both students and the public.
CyBowl & Billiards’ location makes it an accessible place for students to unwind. McKenzie Runyon, a junior majoring in graphic design and minoring in entrepreneurship, enjoys using bowling to bring AfterDark events to a close.
“I really like coming down to CyBowl towards the end of AfterDark and doing a few rounds of bowling,” Runyon said.
There are eight lanes available to play, as well as five billiard tables, an arcade, soft seating, bar tables and board games. Runyon values the unique atmosphere that can be found when visiting CyBowl & Billiards.
“The neon lighting and all of the different aspects of the bowling lanes come together to make an enjoyable environment,” Runyon said.
While a go-to activity for students on campus, CyBowl & Billiards draws in a wide range of visitors from around Ames. Randall Lewis, of Ames, values CyBowl & Billiards as an occasional recreation spot.
“I like to stop in with friends now and then and just bowl or play a few rounds of Battleship,” Lewis said. “It’s simple entertainment, but having fun doesn’t need to involve doing anything super extravagant, you know?”
Lewis also appreciates the various food options found at CyBowl & Billiards. The Underground Cafe is stocked with a variety of bar foods and Pepsi products.
“When you’re done playing, or if you’re just wanting to take a break, they’ve got a bunch of snacks or drinks, if you’re wanting anything of the sort,” Lewis said.
