Apart from their country stardom, Morgan Wallen and Eric Church may be on their way toward becoming media moguls.
The duo acquired outdoor brand Field & Stream in early 2024, including the magazine that dates back to 1895, with plans for a digital revamp and new offerings like a music festival. Now, they’re taking the next step.
Wallen and Church are among the investors backing Field & Stream TV, a new streaming service and broadcast TV channel dedicated to hunting, fishing and any other varietal of outdoor activity.
They won’t be building Field & Stream TV from the ground up, though. The company is partnering with Outdoor America, a 24/7 outdoor streaming service available for free on smart TVs, as an app and on web browsers. Field & Stream will rebrand Outdoor America under its new name and develop original series and special programming, which could include some of its celebrity backers.
Country music artists Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have teamed up to acquire and relaunch Field & Stream, an outdoor lifestyle brand with origins back to 1871.
The company hinted that Wallen and Church are poised to play a role in program development and may even appear on a show or two.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Outdoor America team to launch Field & Stream TV with a powerful and immediate distribution footprint,” Field & Stream President Doug McNamee said in a statement. “This partnership allows us to tell more stories that celebrate life outdoors — through new, exclusive programming and an unmatched ability to reach audiences and sponsors across every channel. It’s a defining step in Field & Stream’s continued evolution.”
A Field & Stream spokesperson said the company identified Outdoor America as a “rapidly growing television network” primed to become the “premier video destination for outdoor storytelling and lifestyle content” through this partnership.
“The Field & Stream name represents the gold standard of authenticity in the outdoors,” Outdoor America CEO Nick Rhodes said. “Together, we’re building a world-class outdoor lifestyle network with premium programming, dynamic partnerships, and a global vision.”
The company has not announced a rebranding timeline or any further specifics about what shows viewers can expect.
