After Andrew was recently stripped of his titles and asked to vacate Royal Lodge, there has been a lot of speculation about what that means for his ex, Sarah Ferguson, and his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Reports indicated King Charles was trying to protect his nieces in the way he stripped Andrew of the titles, but what does that mean for their future in the royal family? And how does William, who will one day ascend to the throne, feel about it?
Well, after King Charles was said to have “personally approved” a new patronage for Princess Beatrice at the Outward Bound Trust, plus sent her to do a royal engagement at a hospital this week that “blindsided courtiers,” there are now reports that Prince William definitely didn’t approve of that.

Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reported that The Prince of Wales is “strongly opposed” to his cousins being in the spotlight in any way, saying it’s “too soon” and “too risky.”
“William wanted the Yorks out of sight until after the King’s next health review,” a source explained. “But His Majesty insisted—he thinks the family needs to heal in public.” Another source added, “William’s pragmatic. He knows the Yorks are poison with the public. His father just won’t see it.”
Recent reports about the relationship between William and his cousins have been somewhat contradictory. A few weeks ago, the News Agents podcast hosted by Emily Maitlis, who conducted Prince Andrew’s infamous BBC interview where he denied knowing Virginia Giuffre, reported that William potentially threatened his cousins, with the removal of their titles if their father didn’t give up Royal Lodge.
And other reports indicated Beatrice and Eugenie were not happy about the threat. “Everyone’s telling them how lucky they are, but the fact that William was using that as a bargaining chip was something that still sits very badly with them,” an insider told the National Examiner. “They can’t help but fear it’s only a temporary reprieve.”
Reports indicate that this even made the sisters “trash-talk” their cousin. “These bad feelings towards William will do them no good in the long run, but right now, the emotion is running sky-high,” an insider said. “They can’t help themselves. At the end of the day, they’re their parents’ daughters, very headstrong and defiant, and that’s really coming to the fore.”
Page Six, however, reported this wasn’t the case. “I have never heard such nonsense. Anyone who knows William knows he is not that venomous and is fond of his cousins.”
Whatever comes next, the sisters are standing by their father. “They still love their father very much, even though they fully acknowledge he’s made terrible mistakes and is now paying for them dearly,” the National Enquirer also reported.
For now, Beatrice and Eugenie will remain princesses, and even if William wanted to remove them when he becomes King, it is not that simple. William does not have the authority to simply strip their royal titles, as that would require an Act of Parliament.
