SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Actor Brian O’Halloran has the distinction of being in 11 of director Kevin Smith’s movies. He and the director have been friends for years and O’Halloran has a special place in his heart for his friend’s work.
“[I think] the biggest misconception [about Kevin’s work is] that there’s no real substance, I think they think it is just this silly comedic farce when deep down it’s beautiful writing and storytelling and the growth of someone and to see develops with it. It’s very rare to have a universe, so to speak, where you follow characters ten years later then another ten years later and see them grow physically and to age on the screen over these past 32 years.”
While many of his movies have been R rated, O’Halloran recently discovered he has some new, younger fans thanks to a stint on the competition show, The Floor. “That’s a family show. So having a full family kind of appreciate what I do is kind of cool.”
O’Halloran is scheduled to appear at the Superstar Comic Con Savannah (Nov. 14 through 16) where he looks forward to connecting with people. “Number one, I am a fan. I went to these [conventions] before I even was an actor in films. This is what our art does, right? Our art touches people and helps them express what they feel, what it means to them, why it speaks to them. And if we don’t make art then what are we even doing?”
Come see Brian O’Halloran — and many other talented folks in the entertainment business — at the Superstar Comic Con Savannah Nov. 14-16 at the Savannah Convention Center.
