NORTH BENNINGTON — Last Thursday, Nov. 6, Pangea Cafe welcomed Sapo Perro Collective to kick off the first night of its “Winter Music Series.” Sapo Perro Collective is comprised of Bennington College students and serves up a healthy dish of pop, rock, and bolero music by both well-known artists and the musicians themselves.

The space was filled with energy and music. Students, friends and neighbors shared tables with food and drink. Before the music started, café owner Lani DePonte-Disorda introduced the musicians and shared her excitement for the start of this series.

“It is nice to see people coming together and sharing the joy of music,” remarked one attendee, though the excitement for this event was not limited to its attendees. Musician Hal Jacob also spoke about his upcoming performance at Pangea Café on Nov. 20.

“It is wonderful to have the opportunity to showcase my work and bring it to North Bennington,” Jacob said. “I get very internal about my music, so I am excited to share it.”

Pangea Cafe will be hosting its “Winter Music Series” at 7 p.m. every Thursday from now until Dec. 18. Tonight, Nov. 13, Pangea Cafe welcomes Grace Fall.

Mia Dawson is a student at Bennington College, which is working in collaboration with Vermont News & Media during the 2025-2026 academic year to cover community news.
