Henry’s husband, Clint Godwin, shared the news with his Instagram followers on Thursday, revealing that the celebrity medium had surgery after a cyst in Henry’s brain was showing symptoms of swelling.

“As you might remember, my husband, Tyler Henry, underwent surgery in May 2025 to remove a cyst growing in his brain,” Godwin wrote. “However, over the past month, symptoms of swelling slowly returned. Tyler’s medical team decided that another surgery to address the recurring cyst and swelling was the best option.”

Godwin said Henry was “recovering well” from the surgery and shared the couple’s gratitude to their supporters. “A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has taken a moment to think of Tyler and our family over the past couple days,” he concluded,

In the post’s caption, Godwin added: “@tylerhenrymedium and I are so thankful for all the support shown to us over the last couple days. We feel so loved by so many. They say the third time is a charm! 💙”

Henry has been open about his colloid tumor (also called a colloid cyst, a slow-growing tumor that can lead to a buildup of fluid), for which he underwent his first surgery after his 18th birthday in 2014.

According to the National Institutes of Health, “colloid brain cysts are benign [non-cancerous], slow-growing lesions typically found in the brain’s third ventricle” that contain “gelatinous material composed of mucin, old blood, cholesterol, and ions — and often present diagnostic and management challenges.”

In a 2023 Instagram post, Henry explained that a month after his 18th birthday, an MRI found a “congenital brain cyst” from a mass he “was born with.”

“A mass I was born with was only now causing a life-threatening situation as my adult life was just beginning,” Henry wrote at the time, adding that the experience helped enhance his work as a medium. “This experience taught me early on the importance of timing and trust.”

Henry wrote: “Without the inevitable brain surgery that ensued, I don’t think I would of had such a firsthand awareness of the fragility of life. It was an intimate reminder for me of the fine line dividing this realm and the next.”

Years later, Henry would undergo his second surgery, a week after he and Godwin tied the knot on May 7.

On May 14, Henry shared a photo from his hospital bed, sharing that the procedure was “a success!”

“Great prognosis, incredible staff, and I feel so thankful to be surrounded by my family. I’ll be on bedrest for a month and look forward to getting back to doing readings,” he added.

At the time, Henry wrote that he had a “colloid tumor near the center of my brain,” adding, “thankfully most of it has been removed!”

In July, Henry told E! News that he had been “dealing with something called hydrocephalus, which is basically fluid being stuck around the brain and causing inflammation.”

Declaring himself “lucky,” Henry told the outlet that he was initially worried about how the procedures and diagnosis had affected his psychic abilities. “I was worried with anything related to the brain that it might affect my ability,” he said. “But I found that not having brain inflammation actually made things a lot clearer.”

He also explained how he and Godwin planned their wedding with his surgery in mind.

“We got married just before my brain surgery, just in case anything went wrong,” he explained. “We went to the Beverly Hills courthouse. As we signed the papers, Clint looked up and saw 2:22 on the clock — his sign from his late grandfather. It was such a meaningful moment.”
