Kayla Nicole has finally addressed the backlash she faced after netizens dug up multiple offensive tweets she made in the past. The influencer and podcaster shared an Instagram story on Thursday, penning a lengthy note to apologize for the “hurtful tweets.” However, Nicole has come under fire again after fans claim that she used AI to write the statement.
“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago,” the note began. “Seeing them resurface last week has been incredibly difficult, and reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way. They were ignorant, hurtful, and completely wrong,” Nicole added.
The influencer concluded the post saying, “I take full responsibility for what I posted, and I’m truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt. My heart, values, and perspective are completely rooted in empathy, love, and respect for others. I can’t change the past, but I will continue showing through my actions who I’ve become and what I stand for today.”
Netizens have run the statement through online AI detectors and shared the results online. A screenshot of one result reveals that the statement was 100% AI-generated. Another AI-detecting website claims that 83% of it is AI, while a third website estimated just 13%. Experts consider AI-detectors unreliable, so no one can confirm their accuracy. Therefore, no one can confirm whether Nicole indeed used AI to craft her apology.
Nicole has been dominating the news recently due to multiple reasons. Her resurfaced posts from 2010 and 2014 contained racist and homophobic statements, including an offensive remark about Vanessa Bryant. Nicole deactivated her X account after facing widespread criticism online. Rumors also allegedly embroiled Nicole in a feud with her ex Travis Kelce’s current fiancée, Taylor Swift.
