CLEVELAND, Ohio – Jake Paul’s next fight is set: The boxer will face Anthony Joshua next month.
The fight is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19, from the Kaseya Center in Miami. Netflix will air the bout live.
Paul was scheduled to fight Gervonta Davis this past Friday. But that bout was called off because Davis’ ex-girlfriend filed a civil lawsuit against him, accusing him of battery and kidnapping.
The Paul-Joshua fight is slated for eight, three-minute rounds with 10-ounce gloves.
Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix are billing it as Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day.
The fight might be Paul’s toughest yet. Paul is 12-1 with seven knockouts. Joshua is 28-4 with 25 knockouts and was the 2012 Olympic gold medalist and former two-time unified world champion. But that didn’t stop Paul, who grew up in Westlake and became a social media sensation, from sounding off through a statement from MVP, the promotions company he co-founded.

When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title. To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry. On Friday, December 19, under the lights in Miami, live globally only on Netflix, the torch gets passed and Britain’s Goliath gets put to sleep.”
Said Joshua: “It’s a big opportunity for me. Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected. Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
