Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are allegedly bracing to make the “ultimate sacrifice” for their mother, Sarah Ferguson, after the latest wave of humiliation against her. The former Duchess of York found herself with no title or home after the King stripped his brother and her former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, of his titles and honours due to his links to convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

Fergie, as she is otherwise known, has been left essentially homeless after the disgraced former prince agreed to leave his Royal Lodge home and move into a house in the King’s Sandringham estate. Meanwhile, multiple charities severed ties with her after she was found to have kept in contact with the convicted paedophile after publicly disowning him and calling him her “supreme friend” in emails that emerged.

Despite their parents’ misfortune, Beatrice and Eugenie have maintained their royal titles, with sources claiming that the King is eager to “protect” his nieces from the furore.

Now, a new source said the sisters are prepared to make the ultimate “sacrifice” and choose between their devotion to the crown or their own family.

They told Woman’s Day magazine: “They’re worried about their mum and how she’s going to handle this ultimatum. She’s always been the one making the decisions – but not anymore. Beatrice and Eugenie have leverage now.”

The source added: “Sarah adores her grandkids and the feeling’s mutual, so it would be devastating for everyone involved if they were to keep them away from her.

“But on this occasion, if Sarah doesn’t wake up and start pulling her head in a bit, they might be prepared to make that sacrifice.”

The source added the princesses may have to take on the drastic step of distancing themselves and their children from their grandparents if they want to “salvage” any reputation for themselves.

They said: “They’ve already been tainted by association, and Charles has made it clear there’s only so much patience left.”
