- Per the Irish trio, “‘No Comment’ is all about getting harassed by the British state.”
- Irish rap group Kneecap have a new release with drum & bass producer Sub Focus.
Out now on Heavenly Recordings, “No Comment” addresses a terrorism charge brought against rapper Mo Chara in May, which was thrown out in September. The single’s artwork draws from Banksy’s famous Royal Courts of Justice mural.
“‘No Comment’ is all about getting harassed by the British state,” Kneecap said in a statement. “Simple as. Us Irish are well used to it, been happening for centuries.”
The charge against Chara, AKA Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, stemmed from a November 2024 concert where he allegedly displayed the Hezbollah flag onstage. A judge ultimately dismissed it, arguing the statue of limitations on the incident had expired.
“No Comment” marks Kneecap’s first new release since the September track “Sayonara,” which features Orbital’s Paul Hartnoll. In October, the crew shared a remix EP with reworks of the track from SHERELLE and Wallace.
