The television network has renewed “Task,” “I Love LA,” and “The Chair Company” for season 2 and the “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon” for season 4.

“Task,” which premiered in September, stars Mark Ruffalo as FBI agent and former Catholic priest Tom Brandis. He’s put in charge of a task force investigating a string of violent robberies targeting criminal motorcycle gangs.

“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have HBO’s unwavering support of ‘Task’ from the very first script onwards, throughout production, and during their extraordinary launch of our first season to audiences,” series creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby said in a statement shared with Variety. “I am honored and excited to get back to work on a second season of our show.”

The first season of “I Love LA” kicked off on Nov. 2 and is currently airing. New episodes drop Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET. The comedy series was written and created by its star, Rachel Sennott, who plays aspiring talent manager Maia. To impress her boss Alyssa (Leighton Meester), Maia begins managing her chaotic college friend Tallulah (Odessa A’zion), an up and coming influencer.

“The Chair Company” was also created by its star, comedian Tim Robinson. The comedy thriller follows William Ronald Trosper (Robinson) as he investigates an elaborate conspiracy at his workplace. Season 1 premiered on Oct. 12 and will come to an end on Nov. 30.

The pickup for season 4 of “House of the Dragon” comes before the third season has even aired. The next installment is expected to premiere in June 2026, although an official release date has not been announced.

Showrunner Ryan Condal previously said that “House of the Dragon” would end with season 4, but the renewal announcement made no mention of season 4 being the final chapter. The prequel series follows the events that led to the fall of House Targaryen and is set set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.

All HBO shows are available to stream on HBO Max.
