Spencer Lofranco, a bright young actor best known for his roles in “Gotti” and “Unbroken,” has died.
He was just 33.
The actor’s brother, Santino Lofranco, shared the news of his passing on social media.
“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother,” he wrote on Instagram. “You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed peoples’ lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear.”
No cause of death has been shared, but TMZ reported that his passing is being investigated in British Columbia, Canada.
Lofranco was a native of Toronto. According to his IMDB, he made his acting debut in “At Middleton,” a romantic comedy that was produced in 2013. And in 2014 he had the lead as James Burns in the film, “Jamesy Boy.” He also had roles in “Unbroken,” “Dixieland,” “Home,” “King Cobra,” and in 2018 he was in “Gotti.”
He starred alongside such actors as John Travolta, Alicia Silverstone, Riley Keough, Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Ving Rames, James Woods and Andy Garcia.
“Unbroken” was directed by Angelina Jolie.
The young actor also faced trouble off the big screen back in 2013. Entertainment Weekly reported that he was sentenced to 50 days community service, two-year’s probation and ordered to pay $161,000 in restitution for his involvement in a hit-and-run that left a cyclist with a broken hip.
“Gotti” was his last reported role.
