Elf Parade; Turkey Trot; Doughball Derby

Seven days out is your guide to entertainment events, concerts, festivals and activities in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

MONDAY

Fall Foliage Zipline Tours

Sept. 1 through Nov. 30. Adventures Unlimited, 8974 Tomahawk Landing Road, Milton. Beaches to Woodlands in the fall is a great time to enjoy the many natural attractions at Adventures Unlimited located just north of Milton in the Blackwater River State Forest. Enjoy the changing colors and the rush of excitement while doing one of the Canopy Zipline Tours. Overnight accommodations at the resort’s campsites or cabins are available along with canoeing and kayaking down Coldwater Creek. More info: adventuresunlimited.com.

Pensacola Winterfest

Various times Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. Based at the plazas around the Old County Courthouse at the corner of Palafox and Government streets in downtown Pensacola. Downtown comes alive with song and dance, arts and crafts during the holidays with Winterfest. Attendees can enjoy Photos with Santa, Photos with the Grinch, the Polar Express Tour, Grinch’s Merry Match, and Mistletoe Magic. More info and tickets: pensacolawinterfest.org.

Drosera

7 p.m. Nov. 24. The Handlebar, 319 N. Tarragona St. Drosera will perform live in concert with Hangnail Ripoff, Protect Ya Neck, and Blindfold Knife Fight. More info: thehandlebar850.com.

Monday Night Blues

7 p.m. Nov. 24. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Seville Quarter and the Blues Society of Northwest Florida are bringing the “blues” back to the Seville Quarter Entertainment District. TUESDAY

The World is Your Oyster: A Collaboration Dinner

5:30 p.m. Nov. 25. Atlas Oyster House, 600 S. Barracks St. Atlas Oyster House and Executive Chef Jason Hughes alongside special guest Chef Irv Miller of Jackson’s Steakhouse have teamed up to present a family-style oyster dinner event at Atlas Oyster House. In addition, Chef Miller’s cookbook, “Gulf Coast Oysters: Classic and Modern Recipes of a Southern Renaissance” will be available for purchase and signing. Both chefs will be on hand to present the dinner and share stories of the Gulf, their favorite oyster recipes and their experiences. More info: atlasoysterhouse.com.

WEDNESDAY

Thanksgiving Eve Pre-Gaming Party

11 a.m. Nov. 26. Coastal County Brewing, 3041 E. Olive Road. Why wait for Thanksgiving when you can stuff yourself silly with holiday spirit a full day early? Palafox Market Holiday Edition

4 p.m. Nov. 26. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, 200 N. Palafox St. Palafox Market is once again launching a special Wednesday evening holiday edition. Come support local small businesses, eat, drink and buy gifts for everyone on your list under the beautiful glow of holiday lights, with live music, pop in visits from Santa, gift wrapping stations and more. THURSDAY

Pensacola Turkey Trot

6:30 a.m., meet; 8 a.m., race; Nov. 27 Seville Square, 399 S. Alcaniz St. There’s no better way to start off Thanksgiving Day than by running through the heart of downtown Pensacola. The Turkey Trot has been voted one of the best 5K courses in Pensacola. A post-race party will take place at Seville Square and the awards ceremony will take place in the Square’s pavilion. Pensacola Beach Turkey Trot

8 a.m., Kids Turkey Dash; 8:30 a.m., 5K Turkey Trot; Nov. 27. 20 Casino Beach Boardwalk, Pensacola Beach. Hosted along one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, the Pensacola Beach Turkey Trot is an annual 5k event held on Thanksgiving Day. Proceeds from this run benefit brain cancer research and the Preston Robert Tisch Tumor Center at Duke University. Annually, the Turkey Trot welcomes more than 1,000 participants from throughout the United States. This race is a fun, competitive and family-friendly event that offers a variety of activities for all ages. $40 5K Run. $22 Kids Run. More info: pensacolabeachturkeytrot.com.

Flora-Bama Thanksgiving Potluck

9 a.m. Nov. 27. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. The Flora-Bama invites everyone to eat, drink and be thankful at their traditional Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner. The turkey and ham will be provided by the Flora-Bama, and they encourage their patrons to bring a covered dish to share (disposable pans preferred) because that’s what the season is all about. Patrons are encouraged to bring a covered dish and arrive anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. They will begin serving food promptly at 11 a.m. More info: 850-492-0611 or florabama.com.

Seville Quarter Thanksgiving Night Party

8 p.m. Nov. 27. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Tired of the same old Thanksgiving routine? Already had enough of the turkey, and ready to take a break from Uncle Joe and Aunt Sally? If you’re dreading those endless Black Friday lines, why not kick off your holiday weekend with a bang at Seville Quarter’s College Night Reunion Celebration. FRIDAY

Winterfest Elf Parade

12:30 p.m., lineup; 1:25 p.m., judging; 2 p.m., parade; Nov. 28. Downtown Pensacola. This year, Santa is joined by some cheerful new friends, bringing the gift of song, festive new throws and presents in the form of exciting prizes. As always, this is a community event with no entry fee required. Those who wish to participate should arrive at 15 W. Government St. by 12:30 p.m. for lineup and unit assignments. Contest judging begins at 1:25 p.m. with prizes awarded shortly after. The parade will be led by the Polar Express Conductor and his tap dancers performing “Hot Chocolate.” Frosty the Snowman, the Peanuts gang and the Grinch will follow with performances. Finally, Santa will lead the crowd in a joyful chorus of “Jingle Bells.” More info: pensacolawinterfest.org.

With Fire Came Disparity

7 p.m. Nov. 28. The Handlebar, 319 N. Tarragona St. With Fire Came Disparity will perform live in concert with Grave Chorus, Accused Creator, and Innerwounds. More info: thehandlebar850.com.

SATURDAY

Doughball Derby

7:30 a.m. Nov. 29. The Makery, 4857 W. Spencer Field Road, Pace. The Makery is bringing the flour power to Small Business Saturday with the first-ever Doughball Derby. This is no ordinary fun run. Picture this: everyone dressed in all black, racing around Spencer Field as bursts of white flour clouds fly through the air like a bakery-themed color run. It’s a deliciously messy celebration of movement, community, and small business love. All ages are welcome, including strollers and leashed dogs. Wear all black and check-in by 7 a.m. Registration includes race entry, shirt, bib, and a sweet treat from The Makery. More info: getrelaxing.com.

Jewelry Making Event

9:45 a.m. Nov. 29. Coastal Cat Café, 1508 W. Garden St. Attendees will learn how to craft adorable kitty-themed jewelry and get to take home a choice of any tow (necklace, earrings, bracelet). The event includes a 45-minute visit in the cat lounge. $28. More info: coastalcatpcola.com.

Jingle Bells on the Bay Indoor Holiday Market

10 a.m. Nov. 29. Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center, 913 South I St. Support local handmade craft vendors while enjoying a visit from Santa and the Grinch and dog adoptions from the Furry Friends of the Panhandle Rescue. There will be special performances by  the Pensacola Sings Choir and the Gull Point Dance Company and food trucks. Entry is free. More info: playpensacola.com.

Cockfight

7 p.m. Nov. 29. The Handlebar, 319 N. Tarragona St. Cockfight will perform live in concert featuring The Shitfits and Wynter. More info: thehandlebar850.com.

SUNDAY

Outdoor Community Flea Market Extravaganza

10 a.m. Nov. 30. Community Maritime Park, 301 W. Main St. Come on out to the Fall Pensacola Community Outdoor Flea Market Extravaganza and More. Need to declutter? Not looking to sell your stuff and want to shop instead? The hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is a $2 entry. Kids 12 and younger get in free. Christmas Crafts & Drafts

2 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. Coastal County Brewing, 3041 E. Olive Road. Join Coastal County and paint your very own LED lighted ceramic Christmas figurine just in time for your holiday decorating. The ticket price includes your choice of 10 seasonal ceramics, all the art supplies you’ll need to bring your masterpiece to life, two separate event dates, and one complimentary 16 ounce pint of any CCB draft.
