Dhanbad: The coal capital of India is all set to echo with the rich traditions of classical music as the two-day “Swar Sangam” begins on November 22. The event is aimed at preservation and promotion of classical music, provide platform to budding artists while celebrating India’s diverse musical heritage. The organisation has been working for years to nurture talent and uphold classical traditions.The inaugural day will witness an open competition in vocal music, instrumental tabla, and classical dance at the Manas Mandir premises in Jagjivan Nagar. Participants have been grouped into four age-based categories.On the concluding day, the railway auditorium will host the prize distribution ceremony. The evening will also feature special performances by young classical artists from Kashi, known as India’s cultural capital.
