Daily Daytime Snowshoe Tours! – 10 a.m.-1 p.m., North Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe. Truckee Optimist Christmas Tree Lot – 12-6 p.m., Truckee Crossroads Shopping Center, Corner of Highway 89S. The Truckee Optimist Club begins its 5th decade of Selling Christmas to raise funds to support the Local Youth of Truckee. Members, volunteers, and many of the Youth groups the club supports man the lot and will assist you in selecting the perfect tree. The quality of trees this year are excellent due to late rains both here locally and at our Christmas Tree providers in Oregon. Locally cut Red Firs from 5 feet to 14 feet tall. Nordman Firs and Grand Firs from Oregon from 5 feet to 9 feet tall. The lot opens at Noon the day after Thanksgiving and will remain open until December 22 or when the last tree is sold. On November 29, the Palisades Tahoe community gathers once again to celebrate FORGED – a monumental art sculpture by local artist Toni Standteiner that honors decades of legacy, community, and excellence in winter sports. Each year, new inductees are added to this living tribute, ensuring that the names of athletes, coaches, families, and mentors who shape our mountain’s story continue to be recognized and remembered for generations to come. Jelly Bread – The Last Waltz – 8 p.m., 14 State Route 28. Jelly Bread – The Last Waltz. On Thanksgiving Day of 1976, while most people were cozied up in their homes with a turkey leg and gravy-soaked mashed potatoes, some of the most iconic musical talent of the past few decades gathered onstage at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco to celebrate The Band’s farewell concert appearance, The Last Waltz. Today, all across the country, this show is re-created in celebration of good music and the holidays. For Tahoenians, this means Jelly Bread. The Reno-based rock-funk band has headlined and organized the annual Locals Last Waltz at the Crystal Bay Casino.
