A newly-launched Vietnamese leisure airline, Sun PhuQuoc Airways, has chosen AirFi as its in-flight entertainment (IFE) technology partner.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA), which was created by Sun Group to connect the country’s tropical island of Phu Quoc with the wider Southeast Asia region, will be deploying AirFi’s portable wireless IFE platform, the AirFi Box, across its Airbus A320 and A321neo fleet.
The solution allows passengers to stream entertainment directly to their own devices without the need for seat-back screens, internet connection or apps. The service is powered by AirFi’s portable streaming technology. “We’re thrilled to support Sun PhuQuoc Airways from day one of its operations,” said Jane Phan, Director Asia, AirFi.
“SPA embodies Vietnam’s dynamic, forward-looking leisure sector, and our technology will help them deliver a modern, connected in-flight experience that matches their world-class ambitions.”
AirFi says the system can be installed overnight with no Supplemental Type Certificate required, which ensures zero aircraft downtime, and that passengers can instantly access a rich mix of Vietnamese and English-language films, TV shows, and music through the browser-based portal (SSID: SPA Connect), with games scheduled to be added in the December content cycle.
