Bucks Co. Native Bringing “Americana Music For The Soul” To New Hope

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MERCE LEMON & FUST – “CUP OF LONELINESS” & “CHOICES” (GEORGE JONES COVERS)

Rising indie-country acts Merce Lemon and Fust have teamed up for two collaborative George Jones covers, with Merce taking the lead on “Cup of Loneliness” and Fust doing the same on “Choices.”

DIIV – “REFLECTED” (FROM BOILED ALIVE)

DIIV’s new concert film and live album, Boiled Alive, are out on Friday, and they’ve given us a preview with a live version of “Reflected.”

ANGEL DU$T – “DU$T”

Hardcore boundary-pushers Angel Du$t have shared another taste of their upcoming album Cold 2 The Touch, and “DU$T” is an impossible-to-categorize song that goes from folky balladry to blast beats.

MARIACHI EL BRONX – “RIP ROMEO”

The Bronx have given us another early taste of the first new album in 12 years from their mariachi alter ego, Mariachi El Bronx IV. “‘RIP Romeo’ started with a melody that wouldn’t leave my head,” lead vocalist Matt Caughthran says. “I brought it to Ray [Suen, violin] and we knocked out a demo in an hour. We hadn’t written together in years, but we fell right back into rhythm. It came alive when the rest of the band got their hands on it. It’s a pretty direct song on the surface, but there’s a lot going on underneath. I’ve wanted to write about Romeo for years, but only if it came from a genuine place – not something forced or cliché. This one finally felt true, so I leaned in. The deeper layer revealed itself when I couldn’t finish the lyrics. I had most of it written, but key lines were missing. I couldn’t focus – my aunt had recently passed away from cancer, and my family was grieving. That experience ended up shaping the song in ways I hadn’t anticipated. The lines ‘How could this happen to you, it’s cruel and it’s tragic’ and ‘Amor es muerte (love is death)’ are about her – they completed the song for me.”

THE FLATLINERS – “MISANTHROPY & ME”

Toronto punk vets The Flatliners have signed to Equal Vision and their first single for the new label is the anthemic, revved-up “Misanthropy & Me.”

—

HAAI – “STITCHES” (ROMY REMIX)

“Romy and I have been friends and collaborators for many years now, so it felt natural to invite to be part of HUMANiSE,” HAAi says. “‘Stitches’ felt like the perfect fit, and she’s captured all the emotion and reimagined it in the most Romy way – emotional, trance euphoria – leaning into the true spirit of HUMANiSE and what it means to be human in this world.”

—

KAITLYN AURELIA SMITH – “I MISS THE WAY YOU SWIM”

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is releasing the three-song instrumental album Thoughts on the Future on December 19 via Nettwerk and here’s the ambient, 10-minute “I Miss the Way You Swim.”

—

COMMITMENT (SOUL GLO, EYE FLYS, etc) – “HELLRAISER”

Commitment is a new-ish Philly hardcore band fronted by Tati Salazar, who previously led the much more melodic indie pop project Le Siren (fka The Childlike Empress), and whose drummer is Soul Glo vocalist Pierce Jordan. With a lineup rounded out by guitarist Jake Smith (of Eye Flys) and bassist Zach Bailey, Commitment released their first demo earlier this year and now they signed to Get Better Records and put out the new single “Hellraiser.”

—

RADIO FREE ALICE – “RULE 31”

Australian post-punk band Radio Free Alice, who will open for Geese in their homeland in February, have shared this propulsive new single. “Rule 31 came about during a soundcheck whilst on tour,” says frontman Noah Learmonth. “The bassline came first and we just built it up from there. We recorded it at Peter’s beautiful house-studio in Connecticut when we had a couple days off from shows.”

—

LAMBCHOP – “AFTERBURNER”

New benefit compilation Passages: Artists in Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers is out this Friday (12/5) via Western Vinyl and two more singles are out from it. Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner says, “Wish that it were anywhere near enough to make the slightest dent in what needs to occur. Consequently, we do what we can, through intent, understanding, action, love.”

—

Y LA BAMBA – “WRONG CROWD”

Also out from the comp is Y La Bamba’s “Wrong Crowd.” “This song was written for and about many reasons,” Luz Elena says. “It’s about finding yourself through struggle. So many things come up like being misplaced, misunderstood, being vulnerable, grieving, compassion… I can go on. I feel a deep despair but I’m always trying to find a way to create visibility for my family and my communities. We don’t talk about how much we need to nurture our mental health as we are trying to keep things together for others and ourselves. Thank you for having me to be part of this project. I hope this message lands well.”

—

KING HÜSKY – “DECEMBER95”

King Hüsky, aka Kvelertak guitarist Vidar Linda in indiepop mode, has shared this holiday-friendly new song.

—

IDLES – CAUGHT STEALING REMIXES (INTERPOL, NICK ZINNER, MORE)

Back in August, IDLES released their soundtrack/score to Darren Aronofsky’s comic crime drama Caught Stealing. The film is set in NYC’s East Village and Lower East Side around the turn of the millenium, and they’ve now released an EP of remixes featuring artists who were around in that era. Interpol and Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Nick Zinner have both remixed “Rabbit Run,” while newer band Lip Critic have had a go at “Doom.”

—

BAXTER DURY – ALLBARONE REMIXES (MARIE DAVIDSON, JARVIS COCKER)

—

Album details are still under wraps but he’s has released the first single, “A Plea.” It features Flea on trumpet, electric bass and vocals, with contributions from an all-star group of musicians including Anna Butterss, Deantoni Parks, Jeff Parker, Mauro Refosco, Rickey Washington, Vikram Devasthali, Chris Warren, and Josh Johnson.

—

THE BEVIS FROND – “HORRORFUL HEIGHTS”

It’s the title track from The Bevis Frond’s upcoming double album.

—

PEACHES – “FUCK YOUR FACE”

As you’d expect, Peaches’ new single is a provocative banger that opens with the lines “I’m a horny little fucker and I’ll put you in a squeeze / I’m a horny little fucker and I’ll bring you to your knees,” later chanting “Bump the bass / duck the mace.” New album No Lube So Rude is out in early 2026.

—

VOXTROT – “FIGHTING BACK”

Austin indie vets Voxtrot have been back since 2022 but they’ve now announced a new album, Dreamers in Exile — their first in nearly 20 years — which will be out February 27. In fact, it’s their first album since their 2007 debut, and this is the first single.
