Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons – the sons of KISS legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons respectively – are working together under the moniker Stanley Simmons. They guested on KTLA 5 to discuss the partnership and their new single, “Body Down”, due to be released this Friday, December 5.
Stanley and Simmons recently issued the folowing update:
“It’s time. Our debut single, ‘Body Down’, is out Dec 5. Pre-save it now. A year ago Stanley Simmons wasn’t even the beginning of a thought in either of our heads. Now it’s pretty much all of them. We’re incredibly proud of the record we’re making and very stoked to share it with you all.”
Stanley: “People get hyped on the last names, but that doesn’t get you anywhere. You can’t network your way into making something that actually moves people.”
Simmons: “We just wanted to sing together once. Then we heard it back and thought, wait, this actually sounds special. There’s a kind of connection you can’t fake. When we sing together, it feels like a third voice, something new.”
Stanley previously shared the video below along with the following message:
“The vid that started it all. If you’d have told me this time last year that we’d almost be done tracking a Stanley Simmons full length and that we’d be doing it with one of my favorite producers of all time, I would’ve called you nuts. This all came from a couple friends hanging out one afternoon with no plan. And damn I’m grateful for how it turned out.”
“Prophets Of Addiction is a modern day Hanoi Rocks meets The 69 Eyes with plenty of Pop hooks and Whisky drenched vocals.” – Metal Sludge.
