Somehow, a windbreaker promoting Timothée Chalamet’s new movie, Marty Supreme, has become the most-sought-after piece of clothing all year. Really — even GQ is calling it “the defining garment of 2025.” Plenty of celebrities have been photographed wearing the jacket, including Kylie Jenner, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Hailey Bieber, and Tom Brady. A red version recently sold for $4,000 on Grailed, if that tells you anything about the hype we’re dealing with. It’s so exclusive, apparently, that even Chalamet’s mom had to make a special request to get her hands on one.
Chalamet shared an Instagram carousel on Tuesday that included a text exchange between him and his mother in which she politely asked him for a Marty Supreme jacket in a size small. Although she didn’t say which color she wanted (the jacket currently comes in red, black, blue, and orange), she did let her son know that she wanted him to act fast so she could wear it to the premiere. Who says moms can’t be hypebeasts?
Made in collaboration with streetwear brand Nahmias, the merch line completely sold out at its first pop-up in New York last week thanks to the hundreds of fans who stood on line to buy T-shirts, hoodies, and jackets for a Ping-Pong movie that hasn’t even come out yet. In Chalamet we trust?
