(NewsNation) — Former Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles and told to move out of his royal residence in October, is not leaving quietly and wants “a lot of money,” according to royal biographer Andrew Lownie.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly “digging his heels in” and attempting to get “quite a big house” as the royal family pushes to remove him from their property, Lownie told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich.
The former prince has made previous attempts to negotiate a cash payment to leave the Royal Lodge. It remains unclear if his negotiations have been successful.

Mountbatten-Windsor also “wants his daughters to remain within the royal fold, retain their titles,” Lownie said. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have remained in proximity with the royals despite their father having fallen out of favor.
In October, Mountbatten-Windsor’s brother, King Charles III, stripped him of his royal titles and told him to move due to his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Scrutiny of the former prince’s relationship with Epstein intensified a few months ago when renewed allegations of sexual abuse came to light. In her posthumous memoir released in October 2025, Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre said Prince Andrew felt “entitled” to her and said she was given $15,000 for her first night with the royal. She was 17 at the time.
