Country music legend Reba McEntire’s fans are sending prayers her way this week after her family was hit hard by tragedy once again.
Marissa Blackstock, who is married to McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, announced on Instagram that she had a miscarriage.
“I’ve carried more loss this year than I ever imagined I could,” Marissa wrote. “First my brother-in-law, then my dad … and now our little boy. Grief has a way of reshaping your world, and I’ve learned that to survive it, you have to search for even the faintest glimmer of meaning — the small silver thread that helps your heart keep going.
“Our little boy was that for me,” she continued. “He arrived the day after my dad passed, two pink lines on Thanksgiving morning … something I had never seen before in three long years of trying,” she continued. “And though he began to slip away in the days that followed, and confirmed what we already knew … he still gave us something precious. He showed me that my body can do this. That hope isn’t gone. I know — it’s so early. But I wanted to acknowledge this for the people who have been excited for us. The ones who’ve followed our journey, our family, our heartbreaks and our hopes. Life happens quietly sometimes, and it’s such a shame we don’t talk about it more. How can we support one another if we don’t know?”
Marissa has long shared her attempt to have a baby with Shelby with fans.
“Biologically, time may not be on our side, but I’m not ready to set this dream down,” she added. “Not now, not ever. And even in the weight of this season, I’m grateful for the light he brought with him; however brief, however delicate. If you’re walking through your own losses, I hope you find your small threads of light too.”
Followers were quick to send love and support.
“I’m so sorry honey,” Tracey Bregman wrote. “I’ve walked this road. I know how deep the heartbreak is. I’m sending you so much love.”
“So sorry for your loss,” another wrote. “It’s devastating. We had 2 losses before welcoming our miracle baby. Will be praying for you.”

This all also comes just months after the family was rocked by the death of Brandon Blackstock, who was Shelby’s half-brother and the son-in-law of McEntire.
So it has been a rough year for the country music legend and her family.
