Dolly Parton is gearing up to come back with a bang.
Amid the country music icon’s recent health concerns, her goddaughter Miley Cyrus assured fans she’s looking forward to resuming her regular activities.
“She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Cyrus told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Dec. 1. “The show must go on, so she’s excited to get back to work.”
Parton, 79, has been focused on her well-being in recent months. She missed an event at her Dollywood amusement park in September due to complications caused by a kidney stone, opting to appear in a pre-recorded video instead.
“Turned out it’d given me an infection,” she said in a video shown during the ceremony, “and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’”
The “9 to 5” singer went on to sit out from a number of appearances in the weeks that followed, and postponed a series of concerts in Las Vegas set for December 2025 to September 2026.

“I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she said in a post on Instagram in September. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
But despite Parton’s health challenges, she has continued to stay upbeat. In fact, she celebrated Thanksgiving last month with a festive video greeting for fans to mark the occasion.
“I am so thankful for all of you and for the memories that we’ve shared through the years,” she said in the Nov. 27 Instagram video. “So happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and just know that I will always love you.”
