Stephen Colbert on Monday joined the late night pile-on over President Donald Trump receiving the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize ― and responded by awarding himself his own questionable honor.
“Call me a boomer, but these participation trophies have gone too far,” the “Late Show” host joked while mocking the bizarre moment that FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented Trump with the accolade.
The comedian then acted all surprised when presented with the very first Stephen Colbert Joke Prize, prompting the audience to chant his name as he triumphantly hoisted the golden statuette in his likeness into the air.
