There are many foreign stars who visit India to perform, whether for stage dances or concerts. Post Malone recently also visited the country, having a concert in Guwahati, Assam. There are, unfortunately, incidents that push stars into making decisions like not wanting to return.
In Malone’s case, there was a lot that happened during the concert, both good and bad. The singer performed on December 8, and news came about an incident that is once again painting the image of the nation in a negative manner.

British Influencer was Harassed During Post Malone’s Concert
Emma, a travel influencer on Instagram, talked about the safety of female fans in crowded concerts, especially when such events take place in India. She made a post with regard to the same after attending Post Malone’s concert.
“Concerts in India aren’t safe for women,” she continued. “As two women in the crowd, both me and Amina (another travel influencer) were touched without consent within minutes of entering the packed area. After just 10 minutes, we had to force our way out and move to the back near the vendors because we no longer felt safe. Sadly because of what happened we were no longer able to enjoy the concert.”
She was made uncomfortable and was shaken by the behaviour that she had to experience. The alleged harassment wasn’t reported immediately, but the police did eventually get involved.
The Guwahati Police Got Involved
The influencer elaborated on how there is a difference between flowing in the crowd and the kind of shoves and pushes she had to experience. She focused on why concerts should be for everyone to enjoy and not just one half of society.
“This isn’t ‘normal crowd pushing.’ It’s part of a wider issue of violence against women and the way harassment is minimised in public spaces. No concert, no matter how big, should make women choose between enjoying the music and guarding their bodies.”
“Unfortunately, they did not raise a complaint instantly and report the incident either to the police who were present at the concert venue or to the organisers. This lapse of time makes it a little difficult, but we are looking into the matter,” DCP Mrinal Deka.
The police got involved after seeing the post and addressed the issue. They assured that the matter is being looked into even though it would be difficult since it wasn’t immediately reported.
