Jen Shah, a former reality TV personality who rose to fame on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” has been released early from federal prison.
According to ABC News, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed Shah was released from Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas, on Wednesday morning after serving nearly three years of a six-and-a-half-year sentence.
According to People, Shah has been permitted to return home.
Shah, 52, is expected to receive full release in April if she complies with release conditions, the Deseret News reported. According to the Deseret News, her sentence was was reduced multiple times due to good behavior and participation in prison programs.
“We continue to express our sincerest gratitude to the [Bureau of Prisons] for Jen’s early release,” Shah’s manager, Chris Giovanni, said in a statement to People. “Jen Shah remains thankful for the love and prayers from her supporters. Jen is focused on reuniting with family and friends, while embarking on this new journey of redemption to make everything right.”
Shah was featured on the first two seasons of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” from 2020 to 2022.
In 2022, Shah pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in a nationwide telemarketing scheme targeting elderly victims. She was sentenced in 2023 and ordered to pay back $6.5 million.
