A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that firefighters responded at 3:38 p.m. to a call for medical aid at a home in the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood.
The spokesman added that the deceased are a 78-year-old male and a 68-year-old female, which match the ages of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. Neither of the bodies have been publicly identified, but TMZ is reporting that the deceased are Reiner and his wife, based on information from law enforcement sources. TMZ is also reporting that “the two suffered lacerations consistent with a knife.”
The Los Angeles Police Department has opened up an investigation into the incident, with the Robbery Homicide Division reportedly taking the lead.
