Sydney Sweeney Channels Marilyn Monroe at ‘The Housemaid’ Premiere

Sydney Sweeney gave off major Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch” vibes and evoked old Hollywood glamour with her custom Galia Lahav gown at “The Housemaid” premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night.

The actress, whose look was curated by stylist Molly Dickson, wore a white halter dress with a plunging neckline and flowing skirt for the red carpet event. The white gown, featured contrasting fabric at the bodice and the skirt, adding further dimension to the overall look.

The bodice of the dress featured slight fabric ruching, while the skirt was crafted with a semi-sheer material. The dress took more than 170 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, per the brand. Sweeney’s waist was cinched by the formfitting bodice, adding silhouette definition.

To contrast the fitted silhouette of the bodice, the skirt flowed from the hips to the red carpet, featuring feathery details at the hemline of the skirt. As for jewelry, Sweeney added silver baubles to her attire, wearing a cocktail ring, bracelet and diamond earrings to accentuate her look.

Sweeney’s old Hollywood approach to her “Housemaid” premiere look carried through to her glam. The actress’ hair was styled with a slight side part, her blond hair flowing in soft curls down her shoulders. Makeup included highlights like bold brows, lined eyes and a pop of color with Sweeney’s red lip.

“The Housemaid” Los Angeles premiere is just the latest event where Sweeney opted for an old Hollywood aura. On Dec. 2, Sweeney favored another classic glamour-inspired look with her custom Miu Miu dress, crafted with allover shimmering embellishments, a plunging V-shaped neckline, thin straps and a cinched waist for added silhouette definition.

Directed by Paul Feig, “The Housemaid” follows Millie, played by Sweeney, who becomes a live-in maid for affluent couple Nina and Andrew, played by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, only to discover their idyllic life isn’t what it seems. The film hits theaters Friday.
