Jimmy Kimmel won’t be having a silent night on Christmas. He’ll be condemning fascism and perhaps President Donald Trump in a Yuletide address on British TV’s Channel 4.
According to outlets, the annual “Alternative Christmas Message” from the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host will air after King Charles’ traditional royal speech.
The late night comedian reportedly will dig into his personal experience as a victim of censorship to declare: “From a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year.”
“Donald Trump’s return to the White House and wide-ranging impact on the world has been the story of 2025 and it would be hard to think of a better person to address it than Jimmy Kimmel, who has found himself on the frontline of America’s battle over free speech,” a Channel 4 spokesperson told the Guardian and other outlets.

The prospect of the late night comedian roasting Trump instead of chestnuts over an open fire is an intriguing prospect. Citing an “insider” at the U.K. station, Deadline said his words will be “tonally warm but with an underlying serious message.”
The speech will be a “deeply personal and characteristically jovial address,” the channel told Variety.
Kimmel teetered on the verge of tears last week in his final monologue before the holidays.
“On behalf of all of us at the show, I just want to say that we appreciate your support, your enthusiasm — and not just for watching this year,” he said. “You literally pulled us out of a hole and we cannot thank you enough, personally, professionally.”
Kimmel, the major networks’ longest-running late-night talk host, hit the darkest moment of his career when an off-key remark about Charlie Kirk’s death led to Trump’s FCC reportedly pressuring Disney to yank “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air in September.
The show went dark for several days before bursting back on the airwaves amid national outrage over Trump and co.’s attempts to squelch free speech ― and Disney’s apparent caving to the administration.
