Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Distancing Themselves From Dad Andrew to Save ‘Precarious’ Royal Status (Exclusive)

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are determined to build on the olive branch bestowed upon them by the royal family, National Examiner has learned, whilst distancing themselves from their scandal-plagued parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson.

The sisters both received invitations to Princess Kate‘s Christmas carol concert at London’s Westminster Abbey on December 5 and King Charles III‘s annual pre-Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace on December 16.

“Beatrice and Eugenie rely heavily on their royal status and their ties to the king,” reveals an insider. “[But] the fact is, they’re not immune from the backlash swirling around them.”

In early December, royal historian Andrew Lownie told NewsNation that Fergie, 66, and Andrew’s daughters have earned “large sums of money” in the Middle East. “We’ve seen Beatrice promoting a Saudi bank recently,” he noted. “We just don’t know what’s going on. I mean, again, one of the ways that they’re paid is through jewelry.”

Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, were also named in a 2022 High Court case involving Turkish millionaire Nebahat Evyap Isbilen, who claimed that she paid Andrew, 65, a sum of £750,000 in 2019 for help obtaining a passport, only for his office to tell her that the payment was a wedding gift for his eldest daughter.

“Some critics are already judging Beatrice and Eugenie as apples that haven’t fallen very far from the tree and that makes them deeply uneasy,” admits the insider. “They know all it would take is one exposed misstep for them to be pushed out of the royal fold right alongside their parents. Their position is precarious, at best.”

Which is why neither of them can afford to step on any royal toes right now.

“Beatrice and Eugenie have agreed that any relationship with their father has to happen privately because being publicly associated with him would be disastrous,” the insider explains. “The strategy now is absolute caution. They don’t want any questions about their loyalty to the crown and unfortunately for Andrew, and for Sarah, that means accepting a painful distance.”
