George Michael tragically died aged 53 on Christmas Day in 2016, leaving behind an incredibly legacy through both his solo career and his time in WHAM!. His firm, Nobby’s Holdings Limited, has turned over £74.7million since his death. While earnings for the 2024 success are yet to be reported, his estate saw a £6.6million increase from the success of the single in 2023.

The Netflix series depicted Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael’s highs and lows throughout the height of their fame, while also acting as a tribute to the life and career of the late singer.
George tragically died of natural causes relating to his heart and liver conditions. He had been suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver prior to his death. Upon his death, the bulk of his fortune went to his sisters, Yioda and Melanie, his father Jack, and multiple close friends and godchildren.
His sister Yioda was the executor who distributed his remaining assets.
His former partner, Kenny Goss, received nothing from his will and as a result brought a claim under the Inheritance Act 1975, seeking “reasonable financial provision” from the estate. The pair had a serious relationship between 1996 and 2009.
It was reported at the time that he had been reliant on money from Michael after their relationship had ended. He reached a settlement with Michael’s family of an undisclosed amount. Nothing was left to his partner at the time, Fadi Fawaz.
They had been in a relationship from 2011 and were together at the time of George’s death, with Fadi being the individual who discovered he was dead and rushed to call emergency services.
