25 years after Baltimore-born Sisqó’s “Thong Song” first charted on the Billboard Hot 100, the artist has released a new NFL version with lyrical references to Ravens star Kyle Hamilton
Some 25 years ago, Baltimore-born Sisqó (Dru Hill) achieved worldwide fame when his hit single, “Thong Song,” first charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Now he’s back, and in partnership with Toyota, the artist has released a new take on the classic, while name-dropping Ravens‘ All-Pro safety and NFL star Kyle Hamilton and others. Hamilton, Jordan Love, and Brock Purdy all have deals with Toyota, and the trio has finally made it big on the music scene.
Released during Toyotathon, the self-aware track replaces the early 2000s club-era bravado for lyrical nods to Hamilton and other NFL stars, while highlighting the “magical special financing” that defines the annual sales event.
The Sisqó–Toyota collaboration was first teased in an ad during Thursday’s Netflix NFL games, featuring Eli Manning, ahead of the music video’s full release across Sisqó’s official music channels and Toyota’s YouTube channel.
Hamilton was first announced as a Team Toyota athlete last summer and has consistently appeared in national “Official Automotive Partner of the NFL” ads since.
The Full song is available on Sisqo’s Apple Music and Spotify.
