Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are cozied up while his daughter gets engaged.
On Friday, December 26, the Bedazzled actress, 60, took to Instagram with a glimpse at how she spent Christmas. Along with a caption that said, “Merry Christmas,” she posted a photo of her and her 64-year-old boyfriend wearing matching red onesies. The graphic one pieces were accompanied by festive reindeer headbands.
While the two stars were smiling from ear to ear, Billy’s daughter Brandi was ringing wedding bells. On her own account, the eldest of the iconic Cyrus sisters announced she was engaged to her boyfriend Matt Southcombe.
To reveal the news, Brandi posted a montage of photos from her proposal, which appeared to be in a parking lot just as she was getting off a motorcycle. She also attached two photos from the dinner that followed, which saw the engaged couple also matching in all black attire.
She captioned the set of photos, “It’s been the craziest, biggest year of my life and I get to close it out saying YES to forever with my dream man… @mattsouth I’m so thankful everyday that my flight got cancelled and I walked into this coffee shop one afternoon and found you. You’re my very best friend and everything I’ve spent my whole life looking for. I love you forever!!!”
The two started dating at the beginning of the year after reconnecting years after they met while filming the 2022 holiday film Christmas in Paradise.
According to the country singer, the connection was immediately apparent.
While on The Ty Bentil Show, he recalled, “We did very few scenes together, but the couple times we were in the same scene, there was a chemistry there that [I] felt.”
“We just laughed, and it was at a time [when] I wasn’t laughing a lot and I found that the oddest thing.”
Billy also remembered how he felt when they rekindled their connection years later.
He added, “Then two more years of life went by, and it was this evolution that some might’ve looked at and certainly I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher for me?’”
“At a certain point, it was like, ‘You can’t get knocked down any flatter than lying on your back when life is kicking you in the gut.’”
