Etiquette expert William Hanson noted that Prince Louis was seen wearing pants instead of shorts, which is uncommon for royal children.
“Trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on young boys is one of those silent class markers that we have in England,” Hanson told Harper’s Bazaar.

“Although times are [slowly] changing, a pair of trousers on a young boy is considered quite middle-class — quite suburban,” William Hanson continued. “And no self-respecting aristo or royal would want to be considered suburban.”

Prince Louis also made headlines after receiving an oversized Lindt chocolate, which he was visibly thrilled about.
“Whoever gifted this egg to Prince Louis, thank you. Look at the joy this little boy is feeling,” one fan said on X.
“Prince Louis quickly grabbed his chocolate present from his Papa. I love how happy and excited he was,” another wrote. “Bless him!”

“Lindt couldn’t have stage-managed a better Royal Warrant of approval than Prince Louis delighting in the gift of a large Lindt ball,” a third person said.
