New Bedford’s City Celebrates New Year’s Eve event features a lineup of live performances across multiple community venues.
Entertainment includes the Toe Jam Puppet Band at the New Bedford Whaling Museum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a dance party with DJ Gazelle at The Vault Performing Arts Center & Pub from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Cirque de Light fire spinning and dancing at Custom House Square from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the Buttonwood Brass Band at the 222 Union Restaurant and Bar inside the New Bedford Harbor Hotel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center will be open from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with artist-in-residence Alex Houston’s work on display.
A fireworks display will take place at 8 p.m. over New Bedford Harbor and is best viewed from the bottom of Union Street.
