The party isn’t over yet for Lauren Sánchez Bezos. Since celebrating her 56th birthday on December 19, the former journalist spent most of the past week in Aspen, Colorado, where her birthday festivities bled right into the holidays, as she and her husband, Jeff Bezos, enjoyed their winter getaway with shopping, dinner date nights, and more.
Now, it appears the revelry has moved from the mountains to Saint Barthélemy, where Mr. and Mrs. Bezos were seen partying on Monday afternoon, in new photos shared by Page Six. (Over time, the Caribbean island has become a New Year’s Eve destination for billionaires.)
While inside the celebrity-favored beach club Nikki Beach, the children’s book author was photographed standing up and dancing on her seat, on tables, and more casually, on the dance floor—all while wearing a particularly Y2K-coded ensemble.
In the past, we’ve seen Sánchez Bezos show her affinity for early-aughts style, like when she was spotted leaving the Torissi restaurant in New York City this past July, where she wore a black leather bodycon dress with a denim jacket and boots, calling to mind many a clubbing outfit that were popular at the turn of the century.
The former journalist was recently in Aspen, Colorado celebrating her 56th birthday.
This time though, Sánchez Bezos opted for a different Y2K-inspired uniform, which included a burgundy strapless top tucked into a cargo denim miniskirt—two staples of that bygone era.
The former talk show host’s shirt featured a slight slit along the top, and her high-waisted skirt was decorated with a number of pockets. Meanwhile, she accessorized her skin-baring fit with a wide-brimmed, tan sun hat that resembled a fedora (another early-aughts favorite), along with a pair of oval-shaped shades and a black crochet tote.
As we all prepare to enter another year, Sánchez Bezos is clearly enjoying looking back.
