MARYLAND (WBFF) — To welcome the new year, here are firework shows and festive events happening in Baltimore and Annapolis to celebrate the start of 2026.
New Year’s Eve Events in Baltimore:
Baltimore City’s annual New Year’s Eve Spectacular will take place from 6 p.m. on December 31 through midnight, with celebrations held throughout the Inner Harbor all day.
Visitors can enjoy extended hours at several Inner Harbor attractions. The National Aquarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Port Discovery will welcome guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Maryland Science Center will be open on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will host a family-friendly “Midnight Noon” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Additionally, Port Discovery will hold its annual Noontime New Year’s event at noon.

Live entertainment will begin in the evening, with music by Baltimore-based DJ Curtis of C. James Experience at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater starting at 8 p.m.
Attendees can also enjoy two 45-minute sets by Baltimore hip-hop band Soul Cannon, featuring Eze Jackson, Matt Frazao, Jon Birkholz, and Charles Wilson.
The night will also feature a custom-designed light show in the sky. The Inner Harbor Ice Rink will also be open until midnight.
Traditional fireworks will begin at midnight, with firework barges positioned between Point Park and Domino Sugar, as well as in the Inner Harbor Channel.
The best views of the display can be found along the Inner Harbor promenade and surrounding waterfront neighborhoods, including Canton, Federal Hill, Fells Point, Harbor East, and Locust Point.

Several venues are also offering special dining experiences. At the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, the New Year’s Eve Dinner at Rec Pier Chop House will run from 6 p.m. to midnight.
On New Year’s Day, the restaurant will host a brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring dishes such as crab cake benedict, the Fells Point omelet, and baked blueberry French toast.

New Year’s Eve Events in Annapolis:
Annapolis will celebrate New Year’s Eve with its annual fireworks display over Spa Creek on December 31, beginning at 9 p.m.
The fireworks will be visible from downtown Annapolis, with Susan Campbell Park at City Dock offering one of the best viewing locations. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 8:15 p.m.
Throughout the evening, local bars, restaurants, and hotels will host ticketed New Year’s Eve celebrations.
In Eastport, The Blackwall Hitch will offer a special New Year’s Eve menu along with live music by the Michael McHenry Tribe from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Downtown Annapolis venues will also feature live entertainment, which includes:
- Middleton Tavern will host the funk band Rickshaw Lizard starting at 10 p.m.
- Dark Horse Annapolis will open its celebrations at 9 p.m.
- Rams Head On Stage will present New Romance: The Ultimate 80s Prom, also beginning at 9 p.m.
For viewing experience, Watermark Journey is offering ticketed yacht rides to watch the fireworks from the water. Additional details can be found on the Watermark Journey website.
Families with younger children can enjoy daytime celebrations as well. The Annapolis Library on West Street will host “Noon Year’s Eve” from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring crafts, music, and a countdown to noon.
The Chesapeake Children’s Museum will also hold a similar family-friendly event from 10 a.m. to noon.
